From the beginning of time motherhood has been subject to the opinion of entire societies. Women have been exposed over and over to different types of comments. How you are supposed to be a mother, with who you are supposed to be one or even how unhappy you are going to be if you do not have children.
I somehow was aware of this, but when I became a mother it really impacted me how strong these comments might be and how much damage they can do. Women are judged for the decisions they make on matters related to motherhood. Why should we accept this? Why is it happening?
With my project I want to raise awareness on these comments as well as the pressure they put on women, and show that no matter what story we have behind, at the end of the day we are all the same. We are women and we all deserve exactly the same respect. No matter what we do, what we are or where we come from.
This project invites audiences to start a new conversation regarding motherhood in the form of a textual and visual installation.
